The X40 Ultra offers automatic cleaning of its base station as well as a dust collector filter. The mop pads are automatically drained and cleaned in hot water. The S1 Pro's navigation and maps are top-quality, with the internal dToF LiDAR device allows it to keep the appearance of a slim profile while delivering top-notch objects avoidance. It drives close to walls without hitting them and avoiding steps, and it also raises its mop automatically when driving over rugs and short-pile carpets. However, it struggled with longer-pile carpets and some long, thick messes of dried-on debris.
The S1 Pro is ready to start right straight out of the box and it just requires an easy mapping session to get to know your home. Once that's done auto vacuum will be displayed in the app and rooms can be added or merged when needed. You can also create virtual boundaries areas, no-go zones and no-mop zones if you don't want the robot to touch certain objects.
The S1 Pro is a great option for homes with different types of flooring because it can mop and vacuum. However, its reliance on a Eufy-branded cleaning system (which is included in the box) makes it less flexible than other robots that let you create your own solutions.
